The Oscar's Grind System is Negative Progression at Its Finest

With all of the different betting systems out there, it can be difficult to determine which to use in order to help maximize profits while minimizing losses. The Oscar's Grind betting system requires some thought on the gambler's part, but it is quite simple overall.

The Basics of Oscar's Grind

Like other negative progression systems out there, Oscar's Grind requires you to increase bets with each loss and decrease them again after a win. The goal is to help balance wins and losses in such a way that even if you do not have much luck, you don't lose your entire bankroll. There are four stages to the system, and following them is actually quite simple once you grasp the concept.

How to Use the Betting System

If you're playing roulette, for example, choose an even-money bet (such as even) and a base betting unit. For the sake of example, say you're betting a base of $5. Place your bet for the spin, and if you lose, keep placing that very same bet. When you win, increase to two betting units, or $10. Then, keep playing $10 per bet until you win again, and increase to $15, or three units. You'll keep doing this until you get to four units, or $20.

Is Oscar's Grind Feasible?

Oscar's Grind is different in that it requires you to continue placing high bets, even after losses. If you happen to have a significant unlucky streak (which is quite rare when you're placing the same even-money bet each time), you could find yourself in a deep hole quite quickly. What's more, the sheer design of this system makes it difficult to truly earn a lot of money. However, there are some pros who swear by it, claiming that as long as you go into your gambling session with a large enough bankroll, you can certainly win.

Although Oscar's Grind is a bit more complicated than similar systems, it certainly has its use in land-based and online casinos. If you choose to give it a try, make sure that you stick to it for every single bet you place. Don't get discouraged and change your bet or place bets based solely on intuition.
